Most of us enjoyed the book, though to varying degrees. It was easy to read and understand – evidently the work of a journalist.

Certainly it was honestly and boldly written and was to many a source of tremendous inspiration. Morrie came across as having been a charismatic and committed teacher during his active life and, as the end approached, with courage, strength and perseverance, still had valuable lessons to impart. Our discussion included our own experience with terminally ill relatives and friends and of bereavement and our disgust with the American system of health care which had used up all of Morrie’s resources.

The book was a tender and extraordinary memoire whose lessons obviously had a profound and beneficial effect on the author.
