Juliet, Naked
by Nick Hornby
Interim Review by the webmaster:
The book generally filled the requirement, just before Christmas, of being an "Easy Read".
However, the book did create a wide ranging discussion, some "loved it" some "couldn't be bothered".
On the plus side, Nick Hornby had identified the essential characteristics of an "anorak" and depicted them, and had woven a story round them.
On the other hand, none of the behaviours was particularly respectable or noteworthy, one reader "disliked the lot of them".
"Gooleness" was felt to be a cross between Skegness and Grimsby and Goole and Withernsea picking out the worst bits of each.
Club evaluation: 3.5 stars.
