Christmas Cornucopia of Poetry and Prose
We enjoyed a truly varied evening of poetry and prose with contributions ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous (I’ll leave you to allocate items on that spectrum).
Featured poets included Seamus Heaney, Lorca, Charles Causley, Carol Ann Duffy, John Cornford, Oscar Wilde, William Carlos Williams and Dylan Thomas.
There was prose from Kate Chopin and Philip Pullman and readings from Winnie the Pooh, Alice and Hamlet.
Sue disappointed by not having a recording of a story read on the radio but more than compensated with her Book Group poem which was delightful and funny.
NS December 2009
The poem has now, sadly, been mislaid.
