2014

There were huge changes to the Book Club in 2014.

After a long period of uncertainty, the funding members of the Book Club, Chris and Nige, left for Liverpool. And within a few weeks we also lost Andrew and Margaret. Tom's eyesight started to be a problem and his wife Jenny also had some illness whilst looking after Tom. The probation service was outsourced and Vicki's partner became seriously ill. Sheila found new work and the pressure on her time made her drop the Book Club.

Other members of the club had a wonky knee, or a wonky employer, or a wonky parent, so the club activities mid-year were sparse to say the least, so we have provided, as a substitute for a book review:

• A picture of the sunset in Bowness-in-Windermere taken in July.
• A picture of the old Lighthouse in Flamborough taken in August.
• A picture a circus artist taken in September at the Freedom Festival.

But new members Catherine, Jill, and Kath took our membership numbers back up to 8.
