Saturday June 18th, 2016, 33 Westbourne

An afternoon (15:00 onwards) and evening of Fun, Food and Friends for Peter's 70th time round the sun.

It's a mediterranean / scandinavian thing, "a mezze, coffee and cake party" to celebrate three birthdays.

Peter said - ""No gifts - thanks - cards are good"!

What is it?

We are aiming mid-way between a full blown Smörgåsbord and a fika, i.e. a bit like an English High Tea but with mediterranean savouries and lots more cake. But it's summer and we might want to linger in the balmy English evening, so there will be something a little more filling as well.

So we will:

- make sure there is real bread, crackers, paté, cheese and the odd quiche and salad, and some nuts and fruit to nibble and munch.

- also make sure there is a selection of teas for anyone who doesn't want alcohol or coffee, and a selection of soft drinks as well. We might even find the glasses that we used last year!

- also provide 'doggy bags' for cake lovers.

Please would you:

- bring something savoury or salad for the mezze, and / or

- bring some cake or muffins or Danish pastries and some booze.

- tell me what you're planning so that other people can be aware.

If it's home-made, take a photo and send it to me for the website.
