Arthur Thomas Rowe was the fourth child and third son of
George Rowe and
Emily Harriet Wyer.

and Arthur Thomas Rowe, aged 6.

Arthur's father was a carpenter and wheelwright in Saltby in Leicestershire, and seems to have been quite wealthy in Victorian times.
He bequeathed three cottages to his last son, Arthur Thomas, who sold them in order to buy a substantial property, 25 Malm Street, Hull.
Arthur worked as a blacksmith making anchor chains for ships based in Hull.
