The Crimlisk "One Name" study

Information from FamilySearch

During 2010 and 2011 we extracted data from the following record collections under FamilySearch.

  • .1 - 1880 US Census
  • .2 - 1881 UK Census
  • .3 - IGI British Isles
  • .4 - IGI North America
  • .5 - Record Search
  • .6 - Illinois, Cook County Marriages 1871 - 1920
  • .7 - Massachusetts Marriages 1695 - 1910
  • .8 - Family Search Beta

Changes to FamilySearch (LDS) made in early 2011 together with a lack of recorded detail herein create difficulties in tracing back to the individual sources noted above. Generally the data on this website extracted from the sources above can be verified but in some cases the original records seem to have been lost and we no longer have free access to the 1881 Census data.

In CY 2013 the above traceability issues are being resolved by the updating of all references sources, and the recording of relevant citations

LDS have declined (or are unable) to remove errors from their data, and there is no "postem note" facility. Consequently we have included erroneous records and annotated them as such.

Despite the above grumbles we are grateful for the enormous amount of free information provided by FamilySearch.
