The Crimlisk study

This information is a complete list of people associated with the Crimlisk study. I have included people related by marriage or birth, but I generally excluded uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces unless of course, their name falls within the study.

Crimlisk versus Crimlis?

The spelling with or without the trailing "k" seems to be interchangeable, and many of the Filey Crimlisks became Crimlis in later life. There are also transcription errors which make the picture less clear. Living Crimlisks and Crimlises are particular about the spelling of their name and if I have made a mistake, please let me know and a correction will be published.

In this study the name preferred by the holder of the name is given precedence and coded blue, alternatives and married names are coded green, whilst maroon indicates that we have data which is unpublished in order to respect the individual's privacy. Grey means we still have work to do, and purple means a serious data error (e.g. "Knowles" transcribed as "Crimlis").

In all cases, hover your mouse over a name and a unique person number will be shown, e.g. "P001" for Thomas Crimlisk of Ardara. Use the person number to distinguish amongst the many Marys and Johns.
