Hannah Cross, Flamborough, 1869 - 1947

Hannah was the third child and second daughter of Robert Cross and Elizabeth Colley.

1869: Hannah was born in Flamborough and hence her birth was registered in Bridlington.1

Hannah was living with her parents and two elder siblings in Harrington's Lane, Flamborough, see Flamborough 1871 for details.

1893: Hannah married Matthew Crimlisk.3
1895: Grace Elizabeth Crimlisk was born
1896: George Matthew Crimlisk was born
1900: Wilfrid Crimlisk was born
1903: Thomas Robert Crimlisk was born
1906: Sylvia Mary Crimlisk was born
1908: Kathleen Margaret Crimlisk was born

1919: Hannah's husband, Matthew Crimlisk died in the "Emulator disaster" of 15th April 1919, along with sons Wilfrid and Thomas Robert. The "Emulator" had been used for minesweeping duties during WWI and was on her first trip out after return to fishing duties. She struck a mine 26 miles off Flamborough Head with the loss of all 9 crew members.4

1947: Hannah died 6th July 1947 as per an inscription collected by John and Maisie Crimlsk: viz:

In Loving Memory of a dear mother HANNAH CRIMLISK
who died July 6th 1947 aged 77
Also her dear husband and sons, lost at sea April 15th 1919
MATTHEW, WILFRED AND THOMAS ROBERT CRIMLISK
'Loved ones reunited'
