Kirkheaton Treble Bob Minor

Welcome to the strange world of irregular methods.

The structure of Kirkheaton T.B. is too complicated when the treble is dodging in 1-2 to ring that part by rules. All the rest of Kirkheaton, when the treble is above 2nds place, can be rung exactly as per Kent or Oxford T.B.

So the skills developed for Kent and Oxford give you the ability to ring more than half of the method, and awareness of the position of the treble is the key skill.

So a plain course of Kirkheaton comprises 5 leads, the bells falling into places at the lead end in the order: 6, 4, 5, 2, 3

Ringing the Method

The lead end order creates difficulty for handbell ringers in that one set of double leads is rung by both 3-4 and 5-6, and the other set can only be rung by ringing a strange pairing from rounds, or by calling bobs. Herewith the double blue line sequences:
