January 2017 - New Story Night

Five story tellers entertained each other with stories, craic, and reports from "In With a Bang / Made in Hull".

Hull Story Club

An evening with no specific theme.

In recovering from the Christmas Festival, various tales were told, but abstinence was also in evidence.

Elaine

Had a morality tale relating to the perils of talking too much.
Tortoise:
"KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT".

Peter

Wallowed in the golden age of pop and rock, "Georgy Girl", "Puff the Magic Dragon", "We Shall Overcome", "Blowin in the Wind", and "Shoals of Herring", before an alternative Irish tale "By the Fire" relating to the Clancy Brothers.

Travellers' Tales of Myanmar, the lost sunglasses, and the Police Mens' photograph.

Buggy on the Bus

Steve was younger and able to run after the bus in those days.

Related the "Water Wars" of Hull. An ambitious story of dastardly doings to make Hullensians thirsty.

Working up a story relating to the accidental bigamy of a trawler man's wife.

Steve

The Old Crow, the Eagle's nest and egg, the Blackbird, the Bull and the Salmon, all leading up to the Old May Day.
